Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS support program where you can live with other people who also require some support, or on your own. Our friendly and qualified team members will be available to help you with everyday tasks like cooking, housework, and personal care. Each group of housemates is carefully selected to ensure a great mix, so you’ll be able to enjoy making new friends and socialising while developing your independence. We are here to support you in achieving your goals and living the life you love. Therefore, each house has slightly different programs to suit the residents and their individual needs.

Number of Vacancies = 2

There are currently two vacancies available at this property, specifically designed for women with mild to moderate disabilities or mental health support needs. Your housemate is a warm and welcoming individual who enjoys socialising and building connections. She attends our Community Support hub throughout the week, where she participates in a variety of activities such as sports, cooking and arts and meets new people. She is so excited to add another easygoing and friendly person to her household, where everyone can enjoy a relaxed and supportive living environment.

 

About the Area

Dubbo, often referred to as the 10-minute town, has so much to offer. There are great restaurants, great tourist destinations like the Taronga Zoo and plenty of National Parks nearby for those who enjoy bushwalking and of course the Macquarie River and Burrendong Dam for the fishing enthusiasts. Dubbo may be a city but it is still very much a country town where community is still the priority.

Your Support and Funding

Challenge will provide you with 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepovers or active support. Our staff are committed to providing you with a high level of support to develop and build life skills, including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment, and social skills. We will encourage you to be active in the local community.
To live in this home, you must have NDIS funding for Supported Independent Living. Challenge residential fees include your rent, food, utilities, home maintenance, internet access, basic Foxtel, communal appliances, and communal area furniture.
