Our short-term accommodation (respite) supports people with disabilities to live independently while taking a break from family or those who care for them. Breaks can be overnight, for a weekend or for a few weeks. Respite can also be a fantastic option for those looking to transition to Supported Independent Living (SIL).
Our staff ensure guests are safe, supported and that their goals are met. Daily activities are planned to keep our guests stimulated and entertained. These may include walks to the park, attending local events, eating out and gardening.

About the Vacancy
All age groups, genders, and levels of support are welcome. People who require physical assistance/hoisting or high physical support will need to provide their own lifting equipment and manual handling/safety plans. Vacancies will be dependent on compatibility with other participants and capacity at the time of enquiry.

Support and Funding
Challenge can provide 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepover or active support. Our staff are committed to providing the house members with a high level of support to develop and build life skills including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment and social skills. All house members are encouraged to be active in the local community.
