Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS support program where you can live with other people who also require some support, or on your own. Our friendly and qualified team members will be available to help you with everyday tasks like cooking, housework, and personal care. Each group of housemates is carefully selected to ensure a great mix, so you’ll be able to enjoy making new friends and socialising while developing your independence. We are here to support you in achieving your goals and living the life you love. Therefore, each house has slightly different programs to suit the residents and their individual needs.
About your home:
Welcome to your beautiful, modern home that’s designed to provide comfort, relaxation, and a sense of community. Situated in a vibrant estate, you’ll have access to wonderful parks, scenic cycle paths, and a near-new tavern where you and your housemates can enjoy meals out together.
Your new home offers both a spacious main house and a cosy granny flat, ensuring you have plenty of room and privacy while enjoying all the modern conveniences you need.
Main House:
- Each bedroom comes with built-in wardrobes for plenty of storage.
- The open-plan kitchen and living space is perfect for cooking, dining, and socializing with your housemates.
- Enjoy a dedicated lounge/theatre room where you can unwind with your favourite shows or movies.

Granny Flat:

There is currently one vacancy in the main house and one in the granny flat. This could be the perfect place for you if you’re a male aged between 20-55 years.
Cooper – A laid-back, fun-loving guy in his early 20s who brings energy and laughs to the house. Super active, Cooper is always up for a round of golf, a tennis match, or a walk. He’s the perfect roommate for anyone who loves an upbeat vibe and good times!
John – A tech enthusiast in his 40s with a great sense of humor and love for friendly chats over tea. John’s also a fierce ping pong and pool competitor, so be ready for some fun, light-hearted rivalry. He’s sociable, laid-back, and always brings a friendly atmosphere to the house.
Arron – A quiet, respectful guy who loves a tidy, welcoming home. Living in the granny flat, Arron enjoys classical music and playing piano, adding a calm vibe to his space. He’s looking for a housemate who shares his appreciation for a peaceful, organized living environment—perfect for anyone who values a harmonious and orderly home.
This home is staffed with a supportive 1:3 ratio, including overnight sleepover care, ensuring you have the help you need with daily living skills and accessing the community. If you have mild to moderate support needs, this welcoming and friendly home might be just right for you. We’re searching for someone who enjoys a friendly, social atmosphere. If you like to stay active, have a good laugh, and enjoy games or tech, you’ll fit right in! It’s a laid-back house with room for both relaxing and having fun together.

Calderwood is a modern suburb in the Illawarra region of New South Wales. As a newly developed area, it offers a vibrant and dynamic community with easy access to a range of services and amenities. Within a short distance of your new home, you will find a local shopping area with general stores and GP services. Calderwood is well-connected with a number of bus stations located just minutes apart from each other, providing easy access to nearby towns and cities. The nearest train station is located in nearby Albion Park Rail. Minutes’ drive to Albion Park shopping complex, parks, transport and all amenities, a short drive to stunning beaches, Stockland Shopping Centre and easy access to the train station and the freeway. Close to local shopping complexes, cafes, and sporting fields, and approximately a 15-minute drive to Shellharbour City Centre and local beaches. Close to a public bus stop and Albion Park train station.
Your Support and Funding
Challenge will provide you with 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepovers or active support. Our staff are committed to providing you with a high level of support to develop and build life skills, including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment, and social skills. We will encourage you to be active in the local community.
To live in this home, you must have NDIS funding for Supported Independent Living. Challenge residential fees include your rent, food, utilities, home maintenance, internet access, basic Foxtel, communal appliances, and communal area furniture.
