UPDATE: Challenge Community Services and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Challenge Disability Services Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQ

During these difficult times, we would like to reassure you that Challenge Community Services will continue to provide essential services and support our Challenge community.

The health and wellbeing of our clients and staff is always our top priority. Keeping a physical distance from each other (known as social distancing) is critical to reducing the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. As a result, means we have had to make some temporary modifications to the way we provide these services in line with government health directives.

Disability Services

We had to make the tough decision to temporarily close our Day Program services across New South Wales and Queensland. Our Supported Independent Living services will continue as normal.
We very much look forward to picking up where we left off, but at this stage, we don’t know when that will be. We will keep you informed about any new developments.

Foster Care, Therapeutic Services and Support Services

All essential services will continue. You will be able to contact your case worker or other Challenge staff member by email and telephone, just as you have always done.

Our Support Services head office is now closed to the public. But don’t worry, you can call us and we are still working for you as usual behind the scenes.

Business Services

Our recycling facilities at Tamworth and Narrabri have been classified as essential businesses and are continuing to operate. All workers at these sites will be given regular updates about hygiene and supplied with personal protective equipment (PPE).

Unfortunately, like many other businesses in Australia, our scanning service and Waste No More business, as well as some of our mowing services, will stop operating from close of business 24 March.
We are by your side as always.

Everyone at Challenge Community Services thanks you for your understanding over the coming weeks as we face this health challenge together. Although it may be hard to believe now, this too will pass.

Always remember, you are not alone. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
