20.02.2025: Challenge Community Services invites the community to register for their much-loved yearly event, the Gunnedah Swimming Carnival, with registrations closing Sunday 2 March .
Challenge Community Services is inviting final nominations from anyone with a disability, aged over 16. The event is free of charge and includes a BBQ lunch for participants and their carers, all thanks to the generous support of our major corporate sponsor Whitehaven Coal. This community approach ensures the 2025 carnival continues to deliver inclusive fun and an exciting day, filled with both active and social opportunities for all participants.
Now in its 21st year, the much-loved social event caters to all levels of ability with both assisted and unassisted events, ensuring everyone can take part.
Entrants are encouraged to get involved in traditional race events like 25m and 50m races. Alongside those more traditional swim carnival events, entrants can continue the fun with novelty races such as kickboard races, the egg-and-spoon, and walking races.
Naomi McCorkell, Executive Director – Disability Services at Challenge Community Services says;
“With registrations closing on the 2nd of March, we encourage both new and familiar faces to jump online and sign up for an incredible jam-packed day, friendly competition and a whole lot of fun. Registration is simple, making it easy to take part in this highlight event of the Challenge social calendar. We love welcoming our friends and the community back to the beautiful Gunnedah Memorial Pool each year.”
