Grab some popcorn and hold tight, because there’s a film experience with a difference coming to town.
You might have worn those funny glasses and seen a 3D film, but Challenge Community Services is inviting people to take in a 9D film on Wednesday.
A mobile cinema will be rolling into town to treat moviegoers to a short film that an organiser described as a “frenzy of sensations”.
It will be part of a fete day at Connexions Cafe on Johnston St, where the cafe staff will also be cooking up a storm and people with disabilities will be hosting stalls to sell their creative output such as jewellery and woodwork.
Film audiences will experience moving seats, wind in their hair and rain on their face, among other sensory stimulation.
Proceeds will go back to Challenge Disability Services programs. Film bookings can be made on 6763 1873, but people can also just turn up and enjoy the fete. A Challenge staffer has even volunteered for a pie-in-the-face fundraiser.
