Artists in the Challenge art competition ran with the theme of Australian Country.
More than 200 artworks were submitted by people with a disability and foster care children across the state.
The public support means a lot to Challenge clients, chief executive Stephen Doley said.
“This event provides people with a disability and foster care children both locally and throughout the state with the opportunity to further enhance their individualism, independence and status within the community,” he said.
“The talent on show this year is extraordinary with so many colourful entries of our picturesque country, as well as some expressive pieces which help to raise awareness about issues such as the drought. ”
In the 13 to 18 age group People’s Choice went to Tamworth’s Blake Willard, First Prize to Narmi Collins-Widders in Armidale and Runner Up to Shayne Williams from Gunnedah.
From age 19 upwards Highly Commended awards went to Imogen Bunner from Narrabri, Aaron Hemmings from Tamworth, and an Encouragement Award to Bram Maddison in Armidale.
The Challenge Community Services art exhibition is open until Wednesday December 18 at Ray Walsh House and is free to attend.
