Staff

Brooke

Brooke started her journey with Challenge as a Support Worker in the Illawarra region. She loved her role working directly with our participants, but after a few months an opportunity to lead the development of a dedicated Recruitment Team arose and she grabbed it with both hands.

“Historically the role of Recruitment was not a standalone role and was managed by the collective HR team. My background has been in Management and HR within Retail and when the idea of giving Recruitment its own dedicated staff due to increased workloads I was approached with the opportunity to join the team and was excited to accept.”

Each day is quite different for Brooke as she works with her team to facilitate recruitment for the whole organisation. Finding the right people for the job involves coordinating with our team leaders and supervisors, managers and HR department to understand the requirements, and building a network of external stakeholders and technology to ensure we’re building a team of skilled, passionate people.

When we asked her why she loves working for Challenge so much her answer came easily.

“I joined Challenge as it has values that align with mine and I appreciate that services like Challenge are here to support the vulnerable people in our community and provide these people with the ability to have a voice about their own care and supports. The staff that work for us and with us are here because they want to make a difference in the lives of others and we strive to be a collective team to care and support all staff to continue to do great things. Our clients are why we do what we do and I am proud to say that I work for an organisation like Challenge with such strong foundations in providing care supports for not only our adult clients but also our young people in care.”

We couldn’t agree more Brooke, and we’re proud to have you as part of our amazing team.
