Achieve your goals with Challenge

CHALLENGE COMMUNITY SERVICES are dedicated to helping people with a disability achieve their dreams and goals in everyday life settings. Challenge’s Disability Services programs are focused on outcomes and helping participants live independent and fulfilling lives. They are tailored to an individual’s needs, goals and aspirations. The sky is the limit when it comes to program options and participants are provided with every opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun at the same time.

One person enjoying Challenge Disability Services is Brad and he has been with Challenge for 3 years. Brad is an active young man who likes the outdoors and participates in extreme activities. Brad’s support worker, Sally, constantly has to think outside of the square to find activities Brad wants to try.  He recently tried sandboarding at Stockton beach, go-karting and jet skiing at Nelson Bay, and also enjoys Wet‘n’Wild in Sydney.  There is no limit to Brad’s imagination as he continues to explore the endless opportunities available to him.

Challenge Disability Services offers flexible services seven days a week. You can choose whether you would like support during the day, early morning or even late at night. It’s your choice. Challenge Disability Services provide accommodation, drop-in support, community access and school leaver employment support programs. Programs include recreational activities such as cooking, budgeting, computer training, swimming, art or going on an adventure. Challenge also offers social outings to concerts, holidays and community events.

“Since establishing Challenge Disability Services we have seen some fantastic achievements from our participants. Obtaining driver’s licenses, gaining employment, graduating from TAFE and even everyday life skills such as learning to handle money and developing their presentation skills; is such a fantastic thing to be part of,” said Challenge Chief Executive, Barry Murphy.

It is important that participants, carers and families are well aware of the opportunities and options available to them through the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Challenge can assist with the pre-planning stage and how to structure your NDIS package to ensure you get the best funding and support possible. To find out more phone 1800 679 129.
