Find your Home Sweet Home in Armidale
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS support program where you can live with other people who also require some support, or on your own. Our friendly and qualified team members will be available to help you with everyday tasks like cooking, housework, and personal care. Each group of housemates is carefully selected to ensure a great mix, so you’ll be able to enjoy making new friends and socialising while developing your independence. We are here to support you in achieving your goals and living the life you want. Therefore, each house has slightly different programs to suit the residents and their individual needs.
About the Home
Newly built home with a beautiful brick exterior and an established garden, featuring central heating and cooling, located in a new estate in Armidale.
We currently have two older ladies living at this new property who enjoy gardening and attending social events. They also like sitting together for a chat and a cuppa, colouring in, and watching cowboy movies.
About the Area
Located in the New England region of NSW, Armidale is 90 minutes from Tamworth and 2 hours from the coast. Boasting a cool, temperate climate and scenic tree-lined streets, Armidale provides the best of country living with good proximity to the coast and major regional centres such as Newcastle and Tamworth. Connected to Sydney via rail link and situated along the New England highway, with a busy regional airport on the edge of town, there are many options for travel and staying connected with family and health supports outside the area.
Your Support and Funding
Challenge will provide you with 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepovers or active support. Our staff are committed to providing you with a high level of support to develop and build life skills, including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment, and social skills. We will encourage you to be active in the local community.
To live in this home, you must have NDIS funding for Supported Independent Living. Challenge residential fees include your rent, food, utilities, home maintenance, internet access, basic Foxtel, communal appliances, and communal area furniture.
