Estelle is a Psychologist who started at Challenge Community Services in July 2024. Estelle completed her degree in Psychology at Macquarie University in 2016, and has been practicing in the field since 2017. She has experience working with many different presentation types, from anxiety and depression, to Borderline Personality Disorder with self-harm and suicide, to supporting someone through stressful life events and homelessness. She enjoys working with children, young people, and adults. Estelle loves to get to know the person and help them explore and understand themselves and others around them to help the person achieve their goals and enjoy their life more. She takes a non-judgemental and gentle approach wherever possible and aims to provide a light-hearted approach to therapy, incorporating humour and visuals. Estelle understands that there is no “one size fits all” for therapy and enjoys applying interventions in a flexible way to create the most effective strategies for her clients as she can. Estelle has experience in a range of different interventions, and while her current favourite is Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, she is currently learning about family therapy and how critical it is to explore all aspects of a child’s and a caregiver’s life in order to help them achieve their goals and create lasting change.
Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, crochet, singing, painting, and video games. Estelle has a running joke with child clients where she will slip in references to how much she loves spaghetti wherever possible, and she LOVES terrible puns.
