People with disability of all ages and young people in foster care throughout NSW have entered our 2020 Challenge Community Services Art Competition using “Out of this World” as their inspiration.

Exhibition Open: Tuesday 1 December - Monday 4 January
Ray Walsh House, 437 Peel Street Tamworth

The Challenge art exhibition is held at Ray Walsh House, 437 Peel Street Tamworth. This is the Headquarters of Tamworth Regional Council. You are welcome to attend the exhibition in person from Tuesday 1 December – Monday 4 January between 8:30am and 4:00pm.

You will be required follow the COVID-19 directions at the front entry and limit groups to a maximum of 20 persons. Please note Ray Walsh House is closed for Christmas from Thursday 24 December at 1pm and will reopen on Monday 4 January at 8:30am.

Online Voting: Tuesday 1 December - Wednesday 9 December

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we will not be undertaking in-person voting this year. Online voting for the People’s Choice Awards will take place on the Challenge Facebook page from Tuesday 1 December to Tuesday 8 December. Artworks will be sorted into albums by category, simply ‘like’ your favourite artwork per category to cast your vote.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you may submit your vote via the form on this page.

Online voting will close at 5pm on Wednesday 9 December, late votes will not be accepted.

Virtual Exhibition Tour: Thursday 3 December 11am

Join us in celebrating International Day of People with Disability by enjoying our online virtual exhibition tour, live on the Challenge Facebook page on Thursday 3 December at 11am, and available to watch any time after.

Presentation Live Stream: Thursday 10 December 11am

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we will not be holding a face-to-face presentation event this year. The presentation will be broadcast via a Facebook live video on Thursday 10 December from 11am, and available to watch any time after.

The winning artists will be contacted shortly after the presentation to arrange delivery of their prizes and certificates.

Returning Artworks: From Tuesday 5 January 2021

After the uninstallation of the exhibition you will be contacted to either collect your artwork from your nearest Challenge site, or confirm details for return postage.

About Challenge Community Services

Over 60 years ago we were a small band of parents and friends seeking support services for our children with disability. Today, Challenge has grown to be one of the largest community support services in New South Wales. We provide support to over 2500 people from Albury to Lismore, Sydney, Dubbo, Tamworth and beyond. With over 900 staff, more than 90 of which have a disability, we strive to comply with and exceed all standards required under State and Federal Acts.
