SIL Vacancy in Wyong Male Shared Home

 

If you have an intellectual, physical or psychosocial disability and you are unable to live independently, Supported Independent Living (SIL) could be the right choice for you.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS support where you can live with other people with a disability or on your own. You will also receive support with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking and personal care.

Charming house on a large block of land Located on the high side of the street offering a leafy outlook. Located in the suburbs of Wyong on a very large block of land has an inground pool. House has multiple living zones including a lounge, dining, and family room notable features include a fully fenced yard, split system air conditioning, wide pathways and new modern furnishings. House is a 10-minute drive to Westfield Tuggerah. Close to shops, medical facilities and public transport links.

There is currently 1 vacancy at the property, suited to a male participant aged between 40 – 60 years old. The ideal housemate would have mild-moderate support needs for daily living skills and accessing the community.

Our staff are committed to providing the house members with a high level of support to develop and build life skills including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining their living environment and social skills. All house members are active in the local community.

The current tenants have strong interests they like spending time socialising in a group and participating in activities such as.

  • Watching the football
  • Card Games
  • Chess
  • Playing pool

Support and Funding

Challenge provides 24/7 support staff, including overnight sleepovers or active support. Our staff are committed to providing the house members with a high level of support to develop and build life skills including personal care, budgeting, shopping, cooking, maintaining the living environment and social skills. All house members are encouraged to be active in the local community.

Applicants must have NDIS funding for Specialist Disability Accommodation. Challenge residential fees include rent, food, utilities, home maintenance, internet access, basic streaming service, communal appliances and communal area furniture.
