Challenge Community Services is continually assessing the potential impacts of COVID-19 on our services with the health and safety of our clients, carers, families, and staff foremost in our minds.

We have answered many of your queries and concerns in the below frequently asked questions and answers. This information will be updated regularly as the situation evolves.

Are face-to-face services back to normal?

Our full suite of face-to-face services including home and centre based visits have recommenced with the necessary precautions in line with our COVIDSafe plan.

The Challenge COVIDSafe incorporates:

  • Maintaining a 1.5 metre physical distance
  • Ensuring an average density of 4m2 per person
  • Continuing excellent hand hygiene
  • Practicing correct respiratory hygiene
  • Ensuring clients and staff stay home when unwell.

In the meantime, if our clinicians are not able to see you for a face-to-face appointment at our centre, visit you at home or out in the community, please feel free to call us and discuss Telehealth consultations.

Am I able to see my psychologist?

Yes, scheduled appointments for clients and carers can continue to go ahead at your home, out in the community or in our therapeutic space while maintaining social distancing and appropriate hygiene. Alternatively, we are happy to support our clients and their carers via video conference or telephone.

Can I make an appointment to talk to someone over the phone?

Absolutely. Please phone 1800 795 441 or 0267 631 890.

Can I visit a Challenge Therapeutic Services office?

Yes, however we are still monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily.

As an essential service, clients may visit for scheduled appointments unless anyone attending the appointment is feeling unwell.

We ask everyone to wash and sanitise hands when entering and departing our office and to maintain social distancing. We clean and disinfect our therapeutic space after each appointment and regularly throughout the day.

About Challenge Community Services

Over 60 years ago we were a small band of parents and friends seeking support services for our children with disability. Today, Challenge has grown to be one of the largest community support services in New South Wales. We provide support to over 2500 people from Albury to Lismore, Sydney, Dubbo, Tamworth and beyond. With over 900 staff, more than 90 of which have a disability, we strive to comply with and exceed all standards required under State and Federal Acts.
