CARE Community of Practice: Competency Centred
July 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Join our CARE Community of Practice focusing on the “Competency Centred” principle within the CARE model.
Every child needs at least one person who is really crazy about him or her – Urie Bronfenbrenner
This session will focus on how we can support children and young people in care to develop their strengths, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
What is a Community of Practice?
A Community of Practice brings together individuals who share a common interest to exchange experiences, address challenges, and build collective knowledge. In this session, we will focus on
- Understanding the Competency-Centred Principle – What it means and why it matters in child development.
- Practical Strategies – How to identify, nurture, and support a child’s skills and abilities.
- Sharing Best Practices – Learn from colleagues about effective ways to embed this principle in daily practice.
- Interactive Discussion – Explore challenges, opportunities, and creative approaches to competency-building.
